serves as Music Director of the New Sussex Symphony (NSS) and the Essex County Summer Players Orchestra (ECSPO). Other engagements as Guest Conductor have led her to conduct performances with the Huntington Symphony (West Virginia), the Springfield (Illinois) Symphony, the Vermont Symphony, the Bronx Symphony Orchestra, the Brooklyn Heights Orchestra, the New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble and the Millennium Chamber Symphony in New York. Co-founder of the New Philharmonic of NJ, she served as its Associate Conductor for many years.

Maestra Pinoci has toured throughout France, Italy, Austria, and her native United States, including debuts at the Community Theater in Morristown, New Jersey, the Votive Kirche in Vienna, Europahaus in Mayerhofen, the Parco Magnolia in Albano Terme, the Eglise Beaumes De Venise and the Jardins et Palais du Luxembourg in Paris.

An advocate for the promotion of contemporary music, Karen Pinoci has performed numerous premieres by prominent composers such as Katherine Hoover, Arnold Black, John Salacan, David Williams, David Baker, Keith Powell, David Rimelis, Daniel Dorff and a world premiere by Darryl Kubian. As Program Coordinator of the New Philharmonic of New Jersey's education program "Sounds Like Fun!", she led countless interactive discussions and demonstrations with students of all ages, and continually strives to integrate fresh ideas concepts into the development of several other innovative programs. Introducing classical music to new listeners is a cause to which Maestra Pinoci devotes tremendous attention, as she believes it is a crucial step towards securing a vibrant future for the arts.

Ms. Pinoci has studied under and taken master classes with a number of eminent conductors, including Gustav Meier, Maurice Abravanel, Harold Farberman, Georg Mester, David Zinman, Leon Fleischer, Sir Simon Rattle, Leonard Slatkin and Lorin Maazel. She has appeared at such prestigious festival programs as the Tanglewood Music Center Conducting Seminar, and the American Symphony Orchestra League's Conducting Master Classes. The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, Maestra Pinoci has been nominated "Woman of the Year" by the MacDowell Club of Mountain Lakes, and "Musician of the Year" by the New Jersey State Conference of Musicians.

Maestra Pinoci recently published an article entitled "Getting in the Zone Before Getting on the Podium" in the American String Teachers Association New Jersey Chapter April Newsletter and led a conducting workshop for the ASTA-NJ Symposium in November 2011.

Karen Pinoci earned her Doctorate in Conducting from the American Consevatory of Music in Chicago.
